It was a wet and windy November night, but the inclement weather did not stop two hundred TCF South London supporters from descending on Croydon’s illustrious Grand Sapphire hall for an evening of fine dining, fundraising and quizzing.
In attendance for the evening were host Saima Mohsin of Sky News, actor and TCF Ambassador Adnan Siddiqui and of course, yours truly as Quizmaster Extraordinaire.

The evening got off to a start with three rounds of quizzing on topics ranging from the Paris Olympics to Tooting restaurants and from Lawrence of Arabia to Rocky.

During the interim break, the audience heard about the impactful work The Citizens Foundation does in Pakistan from TCF Programmes EVP Riaz Kamlani complimented with the experiences of two TCF alumni Ramsha Bughio and Huzaifa Shareef both of whom have gone onto higher education in the UK.

Next up came the fundraising in which Saima and Adnan made a great double-act rousing the crowd in their own unique way.
Masha’Allah over £30,000 was raised for The Citizens Foundation which will enable the education of 300 underprivileged children across Pakistan.

After a splendid Spice Village dinner it was time to play the final rounds of the quiz.
Guests played as table-teams with the final-round bamboozler encouraging some serious collaboration.

But in the end it was the ‘The Purley Wala’ comprising of Saif Qureshi and his Young Professionals crew who seized victory from the rest of the pack.

Many thanks to all those who helped organise this successful night including our volunteers, TCF staff, special guests and venue management… and above all yourselves who support us and The Citizens Foundation.

Why We Do This

This is a picture of TCF alumnus Yasir Saleem with his siblings Iqra, Nadeem and Sidra at his graduation at Fenway Park, Boston, taken on 5th May 2024 while we were gearing up for our challenge. But it's not just Yasir; all of his siblings are TCF alumni (first generation students in their family). That's the power of quality education. It is because of supporters like all of you that our kids are able to see such bright days. Thank you for all your support.
