March 2022, Uzma Mobin had the opportunity to visit one of the TCF schools in Lahore with her daughters.
It was a very humbling experience as the approach to the school is through a very poor and improvished area. But, the moment we entered the gates of the school, it was a neat, clean and a very welcoming environment.
I got to see first hand what a great work TCF are doing in uplifting the children and their families through their hard work.
One of the major projects run by the school was to find a solution to the high numbers of hepatitis C cases and other health related issues that were affecting the students and the wider community, because of the dirty water in the area. Through donations, this particular TCF school was able to set up a water filtration plant in the school which provided clean fresh water to the students and the wider community. Thus resulting in improved health of families and greater attendance by students.
The inspiring Principal of the school has been working tirelessly for the past 21 years to bring positive change in the lives of children and their families which was extremely emotional to hear.
Alhamdolillah we got to hear lot of success stories on my visit. I urge all of you to look into the great work TCF is doing and if possible lend your support in any way possible.
South London chapter hosted their first iftar for TCF before covid thanks to Nazish Omar. She left us sadly last year to her final abode.
This year (2022) I look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming TCF iftar event during Ramadan and pray this event continues to be sadaqqa jariah for her efforts. This year’s Ramadan is organised by Farah and Tahir.
Jazakallah Kher.Uzma Mobin
